Handmade Carnelian glass and amber glass bead UV reactive necklace.
This stunning necklace is made from faceted oval amber glass Cadmium beads with a trio of chunky round Carnelian glass Uranium beads.
Finished with silver plated findings and clasp.
The carnelian colour beads glow a fabulous limey green under UV light due to the presence of Uranium and the Amber glass beads glow a fantastic neon orange due to the presence of Cadmium.

About Uranium Glass -
Uranium glass / crystals glow a vibrant, bright green under a blacklight / UV light.
Uranium, usually in Oxide Diuranate form was added to a glass mix before melting to result in a beautiful green colour. Naturally Uranium glass in direct sunlight will give of a fluorescent green colour and due to it's glowing properties under UV light Uranium glass has become highly collectible today.
Uranium can be found in green glass, yellow glass and even white and blue glass although the majority is green.
