Vintage Art Deco yellow Uranium and topaz tiger stripe glass bead necklace.
This stunning necklace is a beaded design of round faceted yellow Uranium glass beads and dark topaz coloured, cube, brown tiger stripe beads with brass filigree beads caps and a gold tone clasp.
The yellow glass beads are made with the presence of Uranium and glow an intense, bright green under a UV light.
This necklace has been re-strung.

About Uranium Glass -
Uranium glass / crystals glow a vibrant, bright green under a blacklight / UV light.
Uranium, usually in Oxide Diuranate form was added to a glass mix before melting to result in a beautiful green colour. Naturally Uranium glass in direct sunlight will give of a fluorescent green colour and due to it's glowing properties under UV light Uranium glass has become highly collectible today.
Uranium can be found in green glass, yellow glass and even white and blue glass although the majority is green.
