Handmade Czech glass yellow and blue bead necklace.
This stunning necklace is made from vintage yellow Uranium Czech Firepolished crystal beads with blue leaf and arrow beads and a trio of beautiful blue lampwork swirl beads. Finished with a gold plated parrot clasp.
All of these beads have the presence of Uranium and glow an intense green under UV light.

About Uranium Glass -
Uranium glass / crystals glow a vibrant, bright green under a blacklight / UV light. Uranium, usually in Oxide Diuranate form was added to a glass mix before melting to result in a beautiful green colour. Naturally Uranium glass in direct sunlight will give of a fluorescent green colour and due to it's glowing properties under UV light Uranium glass has become highly collectible today. Uranium can be found in green glass, yellow glass and even white and blue glass although the majority is green.
Along with Uranium jewellery you will also find some other UV reactive pieces containing Cadmium or Selenium.
